Included in your Star membership are quilting lessons.  Alex's classroom covers many subjects in short, casual videos.  These videos are usually about 3 minutes long so you can learn and go back to quilting.  Here are some samples for everyone.  Click on the Picture to see the class.  (Star members get to the lessons anytime by going to the Daily Blog and clicking on the classroom sign.)

Hint: In Internet Explorer increase the video size by clicking "Page" then "Zoom" and pick 125% or 150%.  In Firefox, click on "View" and "Zoom In".  Do this several times to reach the size you want.

Hear Sandra Dallas's New Novel  1212_prayers_for_sale_w_cd_.jpg

It's time for Part 2.  Sandra Dallas's new novel is filled with history, interesting characters and a surprise ending.

Sandra has given us a taste with over an hour of the audio book.

Click on the picture to go to the blog. If you haven't started, both parts are available through June 5.

The winners of the full audio book are Carol Upchurch, Penny Skinner, Jan Carter, Judy Carl, and Diana Hartigan.   You will be contacted soon to get your copy.  Please don't give away the surprise ending!

Creative Couching that is.  Nina says that this is one of her favorite techniques and can be applied to many types of projects.  (You are going to love the small purse!)

Drawing Day: Draw and Win

Thank you to ladyquilter who reminded us of Drawing Day.  On June 6, 2009 drawings from all over the world will be posted on a variety of sites to honor and encourage art and artists.  Your drawing uploaded to our site automatically enters you for a chance at a special quilting goody bag.

TQS is joining the effort and will open a Show & Tell area to put up your drawings on June 6.  We want not only your drawing, but we want to become a worldwide refrigerator and see the drawings of your family.  Here is a chance to encourage the creativity of your kids and grandkids and give them an opportunity to see their work on the web.  So take away the video game remote for 1 day and give them a pencil, crayon and paper.  Then they can help you upload the picture by:

1.  Scanning your picture and uploading it to our Show & Tell area

2.  Taking your camera and getting a picture of the drawing and then uploading it.

Kids seldom need ideas, but if you need some ideas: show us a quilt block, a quilting pattern, a flower in your yard, a self portrait, a bird from your area, a tree, or a self-portrait.  (This will be for the whole family, so keep it family safe.)  If this is outside your comfort area, then even better.  The worldwide goal is 1 million pictures.  Our goal is several hundred pictures.  Can we reach 500?
